You can boil marigold flowers for a rich yellow color. A teaspoon of haldi with double the quantity of besan (gram flour) can be mixed well to form a yellow color. Kasturi haldi can be used for getting the fragrance.

Saffron can be used to prepare bright orange color. Soak a few stalks of kesar in a little amount of water. Grind after few hours and make a paste. Dilute with water.
